If/when the day comes that I reproduce and have ushered the apocalypse upon this planet and universe, I'll need a way to transport the hellspawn as well as random parts for whatever my fun toy will be. Therefore, I might get a used Flex Ecoboost (mid-cycle refresh ones, not the first couple years). Roomy, looks kinda cool, not too large, but an old school wagon-like interior with some oomph from the twin turbo V6. It's a modern day vista cruiser.

I considered these last time around. The idea of having a car that I could sleep in when the apocalypse comes always irrationally factors into my car buying decisions. I went with a Maxima for this past lease cycle, but they are going to get another look when I turn my lease in next year.

The twin turbo V6 in those is truly st00pid.

Agreed. Though I prefer the earlier styling to the refresh.

The wife, however, does not like them so I don't really like them either.

I like them alot. Closest thing you can get to an old school American cruising wagon. I drove an ecoboost one and it was plenty quick.

Dont worry, youre in debateably good company. I tried to get my mom into one of these when it came out. She eventually didn't need the size but it has stayed on my own radar.

If it helps, my mom isn't a typical mom. She could row her own and used to drive an early 70s mustang.

I really like them. They are a big vehicle though, it's over a foot longer than our Grand Cherokee. I would've loved to snag one. My wife does not agree with my thoughts though, it's a big ugly box to her.

I got my girlfriend's permission to get the ST over the regular Focus because the extra speed means I can get the cats to the vet faster in the event of an emergency.
